I was initially called to Yoga when a friend suggested I try it as a way to reduce stress and to slow down my hectic pace of life instead of going to Crossfit or racing round the Chilterns with High Wycombe Cycling Club for four hour rides (as was happening at the time!). Believing it was all a load of ''woo woo'', I sceptically attended a local studio on their 'two week unlimited'' Intro offer. The first class was hell - it was Yin (long hold poses) and I absolutely hated it haha....but then had the best night's sleep for a long time. Being the northerner that I am and therefore feeling the need to get my money's worth from the Intro pass, I reluctantly went again, this time to Vinyasa. It was love at first Sun Salutation and I haven't looked back since!
Deciding that Yoga wasn't a load of ''woo woo'' after all, I went on to complete my 200-hour teacher training at the prestigious Sampoorna Yoga in Goa, India a couple of years later. I anticipated only teaching one or two classes a week alongside my job as a Chiropractor, but the universe (or I?!) had other plans and in 2023, partly to establish a better life-work balance, partly due to burnout and mainly due to my love of yoga, I went full time.
Prior to this, I was a Chiropractor for over a decade, running LT Chiropractic, a multi-disciplinary clinic of 8 in the heart of Beaconsfield. Within the clinic, I directed an exercise rehabilitation suite so am highly experienced in working with pain in an exercise setting. As well as my Masters degree in Chiropractic ( 5 years of study), I hold a BSc in Psychology (3 years) and of course, many many hours (500+) of yoga trainings and additional study since!
I am currently not practising Chiropractic, but never say never!
In my spare time, I love to practise yoga, ride my bike, walk with my little doggo - aptly called Flo..., go on adventures in my little campervan and spend time (usually eating and drinking) with loved ones!
